What is Healthy Families?

Healthy Families is a free program that provides families with useful information on both parenting and child development. Being a parent is a very important and challenging job. We want all families to have the support they deserve.

Who is eligible?

If you are expecting a new baby or have a baby less than 3 months old, and you have experienced stress in your life that may indicate you could benefit from our program, we will meet with you to determine if you are eligible. If you are not eligible, we will refer you to other community resources.

A family support worker will visit you in your home to:

• Offer encouragement
• Provide information about your child's growth and development
• Help you learn ways to deal with everyday stress
• Connect you with other community services that might benefit your family
• Share positive parenting skills, activities and discipline options
• And more!

What do I have to do?

Be home for your scheduled visits, participate in the activities that your support worker brings, set goals for you and your family and work to reach those goals!
