Car Seat Program
Florida's Child Safety Belt Laws
- All children under 6 years must be properly restrained
while riding in any car, pickup truck, or van on Florida's roads, no
matter where they are sitting in the vehicle.
- Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate
carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child safety seat.

- For children aged 3 through 5 years, a separate
carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a seat belt may be used.
- Drivers are responsible for buckling up children.
- The cost to a violator may be $84.00 and up and 3 points against their license.

Madison County Health Department will provide
monthly child safety seat class at 3:30 pm on the following dates:

PLEASE REMEMBER:- An application must be completed and
the $10.00 car seat fee paid one (1) week prior to attending the
class.
- Only parents or legal guardians can attend the training.
- Expectant moms need to register as soon as they are seven (7) months pregnant.
- Immunization verification must be provided for all household children age five
and under.
- A copy of your WIC card OR income verification of all
household members or public assistance, must be attached to your application.
- A copy of all household members social security card must be turned in.
