This is a multi-disciplinary group of health care
agencies, business and community leaders, organized to assist in
identifying and promoting health issues that are important to Manatee
County. This unique public/private partnership incorporates the
strengths of the community and focuses on a different health topic
each year.
The Friends of Florida Department of Health in Manatee County is culturally diverse and reflective of the Manatee County population. Membership includes:
- Bealls Department Stores - Provides promotional assistance and include public health messages on their billing mailouts
- Blake Medical Center - Participate in the delivery of public service announcements promoting public health and assist in the dissemination of public health informational brochures
- Bradenton Kiwanis Club - Facilitates public health awareness
- Florida Power and Light - Provides promotional assistance and include public health messages on their billing mailouts
- Manatee Chamber of Commerce - Provides promotional assistance and publishes public health articles in the chamber newsletter
- Manatee County Head Start -Assists in disseminating educational material to parents of Head Start children
- Manatee County Medical Society - Assists in obtaining support from members on issues impacting the health of the public and encourages physicians to place public educational brochures in their offices
- Herald Tribune - Publishes information relating to public health awareness
- Manatee Memorial Hospital - Participates in the delivery of public service announcements promoting public health and assist in the dissemination of public health informational brochures
