Florida law does not allow anyone to attend school without having the required immunizations!

Kindergarten

The following vaccinations must be completed before attending kindergarten:

1. The completed series of DTP/DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and acellular Pertussis).
2. The 2-dose MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella).
3. The completed series of  Polio Vaccine.
4. The 2-dose Varicella (Chickenpox).
5. The 3-dose Hepatitis B series.
    
    
    

For 7th Graders

Required

1. An up-to-date Tetanus vaccine is mandatory.  The new Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis) vaccine is recommended instead of the older Tetanus and diphtheria (Td) vaccine.  If your child has already had a Td booster for 7th grade entry, s/he does NOT need the new Tdap vaccine.
2. The 2-dose MMR and 3-dose Hepatitis B series must be completed before entry into 7th grade.

Recommended

1. HPV  (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine is available to 9-18 year old girls.  This vaccine prevents infection by HPV that causes 70% of all cervical cancers.  The HPV vaccine is a series of three doses given over a six month period.
2. Meningococcal  vaccine protects against meningitis and is given at 11-12 years of age.
3. 2 doses of Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine (previously only 1 dose was recommended).
