Information Systems

MCHD Health IT is healthcare information technology. The use of computer applications to record, store, protect, retrieve, and transfer clinical, administrative, and financial information electronically within the Marion County Health Department setting. The ultimate goal of Health IT is to improve population health and the quality and efficiency of patient care.

The Department is responsible for:

Installing new computers, printers, scanners and other peripherals.
Maintaining the equipment in good working conditions after its installation.
Conducting user classes on computers and software literacy.
Maintaining the health of our Computer Network.
Creating daily backups of critical data to prevent an interruption of services if a catastrophic event happens.
Keeping a watchful eye on the performance of our production servers.
Responding to user requests for help, service or guidance.
Participating in conference calls with other computer professionals from other counties.
Attending classes and seminars to stay informed on new products and technologies.
Developing and testing new programs and systems to alleviate the work load of users.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
