Nursing Administration

Nursing Administration is responsible for:

  • Health services and nursing programs provided by the MCHD.

  • Direction and supervision of all nursing staff.

  • Formulation, planning, scheduling and implementation of all nursing related programs at the MCHD.

  • Quality Assurance Monitoring.

  • Review and analysis of data for problems or trends.

  • Plans for current and future services needed in the community by analyzing demographic and population based statistics, MCHD objectives and available resources.

  • Compiles statistics from nursing programs and health indicators for use in community and MCHD planning.

  • Provides oversight for the implementation of Medical Managed Care contracts, health services and on call staff.

  • Oversees staffing of nursing programs, monitoring of FTE's, client services, expenditures, equipment and supplies and budget.

  • Oversees recruitment and professional development of nursing staff, ongoing education for support staff. Assures CE programs meet Florida Board of Nursing requirements.

  • Works with post secondary health occupation programs to provide clinical experiences through observation and preceptorships within the MCHD for the following students: LPN, LPN-RN bride, RN, BSN, ARNP.

  • Represents MCHD on statewide, regional and community coalitions, consortiums, committees and boards..

  • Participates in statewide, regional and local bioterrorism and disaster planning and preparation. Provides staffing for special needs shelters; deployment of staff following natural disasters. Provides training to staff and community groups.

  • Receives notification of reportable diseases. Conducts surveillance activities. Provides community education.

  • Facility wide assurance program; QA Plan and indicators; Record reviews: Peer record reviews.

  • Community Assessment, including but not limited to PACE and MAPP.

  • Employee safety and infection control. Clinic inspections.

  • Community Education; Health Fairs.

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
