What is the Healthy Start Screening?
It is a
short questionnaire you complete with your prenatal care
provider in a private setting. It will ask you questions
about you and your health…anything that could affect the
health of your baby. YOUR ANSWERS ARE STRICTLY
CONFIDENTIAL!

How can Healthy Start make a difference?
Good
nutrition, healthy habits, and a positive state of mind for
the new mom are important for a healthy baby. Healthy Start
can help you learn how to have a healthy, baby-friendly
lifestyle! |

Healthy Start is a healthy choice!
Healthy
Start is a voluntary program available to all Florida
residents who are pregnant or have a baby under three years
old. Income and immigration status do not
matter.
When you have completed the Healthy Start screening, a
health care professional will review it to determine your
risk level. If any problems are indicated, you will be
contacted so that you may take advantage of Healthy Start’s
services. ALL HEALTHY START SERVICES ARE FREE! All
you have to do is say “YES” to a Healthy Start
screening.

What is the
Every Woman Florida Initiative?
Every Woman
Florida is a collaborative project between the March of
Dimes and the Florida Department of Health aimed at raising
awareness on the importance and benefits of being healthy
prior to pregnancy.
The Every
Woman Florida website serves as an information portal for
healthcare providers on preconception health. The site
contains health tips, assessment tools and printable patient

What is MomCare?
MomCare is
Medicaid Health Insurance for pregnant women. It will pay
for your prenatal care and other health services. MomCare
will help you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
It is sponsored by the Florida Department of Health and
Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration.
