School Health Division

Okeechobee County Health Department provides school health services to the approximately 10,000 students in Okeechobee County Schools. Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses provide coverage to all of the public schools in the County. Some schools share a nurse since funding is not available to cover 100% of the schools. School clinics are also staffed by nurses aides who work for the School District, the health department provides some of the funding to pay for those positions.
