Public Health Preparedness
The Public Health
Preparedness (PHP) program works to coordinate federal and state policies with
planning efforts at the local level. The PHP Planner collaborates with partners
in the community to coordinate resources and emergency response plans and
activities to provide the best protection through pre-paration, response, and
recovery operations for Santa Rosa County citizens from man-made and
naturally occurring disasters.
Emergency Kits
You may need to survive on your own after an emergency. This means having your own food, water, and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for at least three days. The best way to prepare is to have an emergency kit ready. An emergency kit should include but not be limited to:
- Food and water for 3 days
- Radio
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- First aid kit and medications
- Copies of personal documents
- Local maps
- Cell phone with chargers
- Family and emergency contact information
- Extra cash
