Breastfeeding Promotion and Support
Breastfeeding promotion and support are integral parts of the Santa Rosa County WIC program. WIC is striving to increase the incidence and duration of breastfeeding among women enrolled in our program.
Our agency has trained personnel who are ready to assist mothers in making informed decisions about their feeding choice for their child while instructing them in the basics of breast feeding. In addition our agency can provide breast feeding aids such as breast pumps.
A special WIC food package is also available for participants who are exclusively breast feeding their babies. This food package includes:
- canned tuna fish or pink salmon
- additional amounts of:
- cheese
- milk
- eggs
- juice
