Welcome to the Environmental Public Health Service Center’s
Limited-Use Drinking Water Program & Well Permitting Program
Limited-Use Public Water Systems (public water systems which are not covered by the Safe Drinking Water Act) and multi-family water systems are regulated by the Florida Department of Health / St. Johns County Health Department. Our staff regularly inspect new construction and operation of Limited-Use Public Water Systems and multi-family water system within St. Johns County, FL.
The construction of private & commercial drinking water supply wells is regulated by Chapter 62-532 of the Florida Administrative Code, adopted by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. On behalf of St. Johns River Water Management District, St. Johns County Health Department Staff review & issue permits for the construction/abandonment/repair of wells (environmental monitoring, potable drinking water, and irrigation).
