Our agency continuously works to keep the environment around you safe. We offer the following:
- Regulation, permitting, and inspection of septic tank systems.
- Regulation/Inspection of public swimming pools and bathing places.
- Regulation/Inspection of group care facilities, migrant labor camps, recreational camps, recreational vehicle parks and mobile home parks.
- Regulation/Inspection of food hygiene service facilities in schools, theaters, detention facilities, civic and fraternal organizations, group homes and bars/lounges.
- Investigate cases and outbreaks of food or waterborne diseases.
- Regulation/Inspection of tanning facilities and massage establishments.
- Investigate complaints of sanitary nuisances.
- Weekly Coastal Beach Monitoring: Water sampling results are posted on the Department’s web page: www.doh.state.fl.us
and from the subject list select “Beach Water Quality” then go to St. Johns County.

eBridge Solutions
eBridge Solutions is a web-based records storage system. The Environmental Health Division of the St. Johns County Health Department is currently scanning all septic records with an application date on or after October 1, 2008 into this system.
Not all records are available at this time, however, we are consistently scanning records. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, please call 904-823-2514.
To access the eBridge Solutions system, please follow these steps:

The retrieve tab is located in the upper left-hand side of the screen. You can search by permit type; permit number; street address; city; zip code, or septic contractor.
The Engineering Division:
Storage Tank Compliance Services- Regulation/inspection of petroleum Storage Tanks in St Johns and Flagler Counties on behalf of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Our responsibilities include compliance, installations, closure and discharge inspections of every gas station or any regulated tank that contains petroleum based product.
Wells Permitting Services - The permitting of public, abandonment, irrigation, domestic, and monitoring wells. Regulation/inspection of these wells for correct construction and setbacks.
Water Systems Services - Regulation/inspection of the construction and operation of Limited Use Commercial, Limited Use Community, and Registered Water Systems commonly located in St. Johns county.
Swimming & Bathing Place Compliance - This office inspects commercial pools, spas, bathing areas and water Attractions semiannually and promptly investigates and evaluates complaints to assure public health, welfare and safety.
Water Laboratory - We operate a state certified bacteriological lab where we test drinking water samples for the presents of E. coli and bacteria.

The Florida Department of Health through County Health Departments regulates food service operations in facilities under Florida Administrative Code 64E-11
(Public and private school cafeterias, assisted living facilities, jails, and group homes).
64E-11.004(22) states: “In the event of an emergency occurrence such as a fire, flood, power outage or similar event that might result in the contamination of food or that might prevent potentially hazardous food from being held at safe temperatures, 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below and 140 degrees Fahrenheit or above, the person in charge shall notify the department”.
