CPR Course Description

The Heartsaver CPR/AED course covers adult/child CPR with a mask, adult/child choking, and adult/child AED training, and offers infant CPR and choking.  Hands-on skills practice sessions are provided prior to a skills test.  This course is approximately 3 hours long.  The intended audience is anyone interested in learning CPR, employee training at companies, schools or businesses for employees who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.  Upon successful completion of skills test, students receive a course completion card valid for two years.

The Heartsaver CPR/AED with Pediatric First Aid course covers first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and  environmental emergencies. Asthma care training for child care providers can also be provided if requested.  Adult/child CPR with a mask, adult/child choking, adult/child AED training, and infant CPR and choking skills are taught.  Hands-on skills practice sessions are provided prior to a skills test.  This course is approximately 4 1/2 hours long. The intended audience for this course is for those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care providers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children's sports organizations.  Upon successful completion of skills test, students receive a course completion card valid for two years.

The BLS Healthcare Provider course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.  The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals.  The course is approximately 3 hours long.  The intended audience is healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellow, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.  Upon successful completion of written test and skills test, students receive a course completion card valid for two years.
