ADMINISTRATOR OF BRADFORD/UNION COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTS

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH

Union County Message from Administrator

Thank you for visiting the Union County Health Department website.  We hope that this site provides you information that is useful and timely.  If you have any additional questions, concerns or suggestions, please contact our office at 386-496-3211.

The Union County Health Department is proud to introduce our new physician, Dr. Eugene Usow, a board certified family practice physician.  Dr. Usow was trained in Florida and has previously worked in private practice and for a federally qualified health center.  He is enthusiastic about public health and making a difference in Union County.  Call today to schedule a time to see Dr. Usow.

The Union County Community Advisory Council will be meeting in April to discuss the results of the latest Robert Wood Johnson/University of Wisconsin county rankings results.  Because Union County has been the 67th county out of the 67 counties in Florida for the past two years, the initiatives of this group continue to emphasize working in a collaborative manner to improve the overall health of Union County.

The Tobacco Free Partnership of Union County is actively working with community leaders, agencies and individuals including our SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) youth to develop policies that limit tobacco usage in community venues and reduce tobacco use among youth and adults.  We are very proud of our partnership and the tremendous strides made in the past three years.  We were recently awarded funding for an additional three years so our efforts will continue.

Our medical services are now provided five days a week with the addition of Anna Purkey, ARNP.  Anna is a certified family practice nurse practitioner and enjoys seeing children and families.  We are continuing to work to serve the medical needs of the people in Union County by providing all our services five days a week.

The health department provides many services including birth and death certificates, immunizations for adults and children, family planning, environmental health, Healthy Start for soon to be Moms and new Moms and their infants.

Call us today to find out how we can help you!  We look forward to working for you.
