The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County's Human Resources office is located at our Port Charlotte location. Our primary customers are our employees. We provide technical assistance regarding personnel rules, regulations, policies and procedures to both line staff and supervisors.

Persons who submit an application via fax, telephonically, or by mail must contact the People First Service Center during their normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST) prior to the application deadline date to answer the position qualifying questions.  Applicants who do not answer the position qualifying questions will not be considered for the position.

All State positions/duties are considered sensitive and require fingerprinting and background screening, as a condition of employment or service. You will be required to provide your Social Security Number (SSN) in order to conduct this background check. Positions deemed “safety sensitive” require negative drug testing results prior to starting employment.
