Environmental Health staff assist in staffing shelter, tent cities, and provide guidance to prevent communicable disease after a disaster .  Attention is focused primarily on assuring safe potable water supplies, proper food hygiene, sewage disposal and emergency sanitation.  The Health Department holds title to two deuce and half military trucks and two 400 gallon water buffaloes which are maintained "on ready" for use in times of emergency/disaster.
