Clay County currently conducts this program in both Clay County and Union County.

State Underground Petroleum Environmental Response (SUPER) Act was enacted by State Legislation in 1986.

We are responsible to conduct off-site investigations pertaining to drinking water wells around contaminated petroleum facilities, i.e. service stations, fuel oil sties, industrial sites.

The program has recently been expanded to include contaminated sites around known and suspected dry cleaning facilities.

Since 1988, 121 petroleum sites and 6 dry cleaning solvent sites have been investigated and 271 wells are sample annually.
