School Health

Walton County School Health services are provided as mandated in Florida statutes. The services provided are a set of local strategies that are part of an organized system which plans, provides, reports, and assesses school health services.

What is the goal of School Health?

Planned strategies are to implement activities mandated by law which ultimately are to:

Improve the health of

Walton County students

Improve student success
in school

Who provides these services? School health services are provided in Walton County as a collaborative effort of the Walton County School District and the Walton County Health Department.

Who provides the money for school health services?

The Florida Department of Health manages the School Health Services Program in cooperation with the Department of Education. Funding for services in Walton County comes from a variety of sources. These sources include the Board of County Commissioners , Walton County School District, federal funding, state funding, and grants.
