Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan (MYTEP)

The Department of Health (DOH) Multi-Year Training and Exercise Plan (MYTEP) is administered by the Bureau of Preparedness and Response in coordination with the Florida Public Health and Healthcare Preparedness Strategic Plan Training and Exercise Support Team (TEST). This plan provides a formal structure to advance health and medical community preparedness in Florida.

The MYTEP is developed and written by the Bureau of Preparedness and Response in collaboration with the DOH strategic program areas. It is updated annually in the month of March and submitted to the Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) for inclusion in the State of Florida MYTEP.

Training and Exercise Needs Assessment

The 2011-2012 Training and Exercise Needs Assessment Focuses on the Public Health Preparedness Capabilities National Standards. Specific training is identified as a resource element required to perform a function within each capability. Priority training is found in six capability areas. The training needs data was extracted from Florida's capability teams self assessments conducted in October 2011. Based on this data, six training subject areas were identified with unmet training needs.

The 2010 Training and Exercise Needs Assessment reviewed 15 operational plans with the lead planners. The data compiled on training for each plan identified references to training by title, subject, and intended audience, level of training, availability, delivery and last update. This was compared against the existing resources in the Learning Management System. From this validated needs assessment new priorities were identified that build on strategies from the previous year.
