Emergency Support Function 8, Public Health Medical

ESF8, public health and medical, is one of 18 emergency support functions within the State Emergency Response Team. Preparing for and responding to incidents and events that may impact the public health and healthcare system is of the utmost importance to the state. As the lead agency for Emergency Support Function 8 at the state-level, the Florida Department of Health coordinates preparedness efforts statewide to assure the healthcare system is ready to respond when called upon.
