Interstate & Federal Response Systems
- Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) is
congressionally ratified organization that provides form and structure to
interstate mutual aid. Through EMAC, a disaster impacted
state can request and receive assistance from other member states quickly and efficiently, resolving two key issues upfront: liability and reimbursement.
- Region IV ESF8 Unified Planning
Coalition (UPC) is a state-lead interstate
public health and medical preparedness and response organization devoted to planning and the development
of partnerships. Its membership includes state and federal partners from the southeast. The UPC can be activated during responses to assist in
coordinated situational awareness and
resource support through EMAC.
