On July 28, 2011, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) joined the world in
asking "Am I Number 127" to increase awareness of the amazing statistic that
one in 12 people in the world is living with hepatitis B (HBV) or hepatitis C
(HCV). "This is hepatitis .. . " was chosen as the theme for this year's World
Hepatitis Day to focus on the many different aspects of hepatitis and the
human impact it has.
World Hepatitis Day is an annual event that provides international focus for
patient groups and people living with hepatitis Band C. It is an opportunity for
the global hepatitis community to increase awareness of viral hepatitis and
alert a worldwide audience to risk factors and symptoms of th is infection.

Hepatitis Day by offering hepatitis information and hepatitis A and
B vaccines at Orange Blossom Family Health Center, one of their
community partners. The Pinellas County Hepatitis Program staff provided free
hepatitis testing in all of their local clinics.
