Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Lead Reporting Requirements Web Site

This site provides summary of the blood lead reporting regulations in Florida and provides specific guidance to laboratories and practitioners involved in blood lead testing or analysis. We hope you will find this page useful as we work to improve lead test reporting, lead poisoning treatment, and most importantly lead poisoning prevention in Florida.

Reporting of blood lead test results is mandated under Chapter 64D-3, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.). The rule was revised on November 20, 2006 and now requires ALL entities that conduct blood lead analysis to report the results of ALL blood lead tests to the Florida Department of Health in an approved electronic format by the end of the next business day following laboratory findings.

The following links provide specific blood lead reporting guidance for practitioners and laboratories.
