Vision

Prevent diseases of environmental origin through surveillance, response, education and policy development.

Mission

Ensure the public's health and safety by identifying, investigating and preventing environmental hazards and diseases.

The Bureau of Environmental Public Health Medicine has programs working to protect people from diseases of environmental origin. We have highly skilled environmental epidemiologists, toxicologists and other public health scientists on staff.  Epidemiologists study factors affecting the health and illness of populations.  Toxicologists study how chemicals in the environment impact human health.  We work with data and produce reports, maps and educational materials.  Please take a few minutes to visit one of our Program websites to learn more about environmental public health medicine in Florida.
