  • Miami-Dade Healthy Start Coalition provides training to birthing facilities.

    The Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade (HSCMD) in collaboration with the Florida Department of Health (DOH) provided training on the Birthtype Software from Brookins Communications, Inc. local birthing facilities on Wednesday, August 17th, 2005. The training was offered as a part of the coalition's efforts to ensure that Healthy Start infant risk screens are completed and transitioned from the birth facility to the Healthy Start provider more efficiently.

    During the training Keith Brookins, program developer, demonstrated the Social Security & Healthy Start portions of the Birthtype software and reviewed management reports available. The Coalition provided each hospital with a training manual that included the following materials:
