Interconceptional Education and Counseling Module
 Welcome to the Infant, Maternal and Reproductive Health Self-Study Training Modules. Please follow the links in the order presented and when you have completed the module, you will be able to print out a Certificate of Completion. This is a self-paced exercise and is being presented for your knowledge and information. In some cases, this course may be a requirement of your job description. Objectives
 

Upon completion of this training the participant will be able to:

  1. Define pre and interconceptional care and list data that support the belief that intervention during this critical period can positively impact birth outcomes.

  2. List the 10 topics of consideration included in the Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines: Interconceptional Education and Counseling Chapter.

  3. Describe instances where clients' cultural beliefs may direct how we deliver services to achieve the most positive outcome.

  4. Describe who may provide Interconceptional Education and Counseling services and how to appropriately code for these services.
