Teen Pregnancy Prevention

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Activities

Although May is traditionally known as "Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month," the Department of Health addresses teen pregnancy prevention efforts throughout the year. The www.greattowait.com website and this new Teen Pregnancy Prevention website, located within the Division of Family Health Services' page, provides a broad approach in addressing teen pregnancy issues. No single approach to adolescent sexuality is appropriate for all teenagers, in all circumstances, and in every single community. The causes for adolescent sexual activity, teen pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections are diverse and complex. The department's approach to this problem incorporates the continuum of interventions that target a wide range of high risk behaviors.
