Sentinel Laboratory Training
The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of
Public Health Laboratories offers statewide training sessions for all potential Sentinel Lab members of the CDC Laboratory Response Network (LRN). The direct contact with Sentinel laboratories initiated at this training is meant to begin a statewide network of laboratorians.
This program is designed for the microbiologist. It will provide an overview of the Sentinel clinical laboratory's role in the presumptive identification of primary agents of bioterrorism. The training will consist of half day sessions and will include PowerPoint presentations by the Bureau of
Public Health Laboratories staff with descriptions of the LRN and Sentinel laboratory procedures and responsibilities. Each session will be a live PowerPoint awareness level training class covering the following topics:
