What is Body & Soul in Motion?
Body & Soul in Motion is a wellness program for African American churches.
It is a proven program that empowers church members to eat healthier and be more physically active for better health.
There are four pillars that lead to the success of Body & Soul in Motion:
1. A pastor who is committed and involved.
2. Church activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
3. A church environment that supports healthy eating.
4. Church activities that promote physical fitness.

Why Body & Soul in Motion?
African Americans are at a high risk for many serious and often fatal diseases
including:
• Many Cancers • Heart Disease
• High Blood Pressure • Stroke
• Diabetes
The power of prevention lies within the Body & Soul in Motion program. A healthy diet
and physically active lifestyle promotes good health and lowers the risk of
chronic disease. Eating well and being active may be some of the easiest things
to do to improve health. Body & Soul is a new beginning to a healthier life.
