For Initial Renewal

All Certified Chiropractic Physician Assistants initially licensed within the biennium are exempt from the continuing education (CE) requirements for renewal with the exception of:

  • Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
  • Three (3) hours of HIV/AIDS. 

All Chiropractic Physicians initially licensed within the biennium are exempt from the CE requirements for renewal with the exception of:

  • Within first 12 months, one (1) full day at a Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine meeting at which disciplinary hearings are conducted as provided in subsection 64B2-13.004(8), F.A.C.
  • Note: Initial licensure practitioners who reside out of the state may satisfy this requirement within twelve (12) months after locating to the State of Florida.
  • Six (6) hours of record keeping/documentation and coding
  • Two (2) hours in the area of ethics and boundaries
  • Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
  • Three (3) hours of HIV/AIDS.

For Renewal of License Following Your First Biennium

All Certified Chiropractic Physician Assistants are required to complete 24 hours of CE each biennium:

  • Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
  • 22 hours in general CE

All Chiropractic Physicians are required to complete 40 hours of CE each biennium

  • One (1) hour of risk management CE
  • Two (2) hours of Florida laws and rules CE
  • Two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors
  • Six (6) hours of record keeping/documentation and coding
  • Two (2) hours in the area of ethics and boundaries
  • 27 hours in general CE
