Senate Bill 520
During the 2013 legislative session Section 401.23, Florida Statutes was amended to revise the time limit by which applicants must complete the certification exam. Effective July 1, 2013, applicants have two years instead of one year from the completion of an EMT/Paramedic program to pass the certification exam. This bill also removed the requirement for EMT/Paramedics to complete an HIV course for renewal.
