Health programs help communities stay healthier.  Health programs prevent and control the spread of disease and provide basic health care services to families unable to receive care from the private sector. Early intervention and medical care is also available for children with special health care needs.

Health programs provide guidance and direction for assuring the cleanliness and safety of the air we breath, our drinking water, food, and pharmacy services; the proper installation and maintenance of sewage treatment and disposal systems, radiation control devices, tanning facilities, and swimming pools; and the healthful operation of group care facilities and migrant farm worker camps.
